Throughout Green’s career he has influenced many young minds through the influence of his books.The literature that has been written is instances that could happen to anyone, but is mostly related to young adults. Various awards have been won for the things he has wrote. Green has influenced many minds through his work. John Green was born on August 24, 1977 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Mike and Syndey Green. After his birth they moved to multiple states, Michigan, Birmingham, Alabama, then finally to Orlando, Florida. While in Florida his brother was born, William Henry Hank Green II. He worked as a student chaplain at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio for a short period of time. His goal was to become a priest but him encountering children suffering from life- threatening diseases inspired him to become an author. After this experience he wrote The Fault in Our Stars. Green met Sarah Urist and married her on May 21, 2006. When he met her she was the curator at the Indianapolis Museum of Art before she started a web series “The Art Assignment”. They have two children and a dog. Their first born was Henry Green on January 20, 2010. Their second child was born on June 3, 2013 and her name is Alice Green. Their dog’s name is Willy. Green has been diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, and discussed it on his YouTube channel. Green started his work for a publishing assistant and production editor for Booklist, a book review journal in Chicago. When he wasn’t editing books he was creating essays for Chicago’s public radio station. When this was happening, he started work on Looking for Alaska.
