Dr. Leonard Kleinrock, had given a keynote speech in the Infocom 2006 event. He traced the history of the internet from its beginning in 1969 to its journey until 2006. He also presented his future vision of the internet and how he imagines internet to be globally pervasive infrastructure in our environment. In this paper we will address issues ranging from the impacts of the internet to the future vision of Professor Dr. Kleinrock and problems that will be faced in the future.

Ubiquitous computing is based on technologies of copper based DSL, cable modems, satellite access, cellular 3G and 4G, Wi-Fi, WiMax and Fiber. It has made its presence significantly around the world. Wireless intercommunicating microprocessors are installed in devices and combined with computers to obtain an inter-communicating environment wherein information can be easily exchanged between the physical and computational world without user support. It is putting together functions, services and content all into a single device. Several individual devices such as camera, FM, GPS, MP3, Television, Game console, Phone, PC are combined into a single device called mobile phone. By convergence we do not need separate infrastructure for media and data. They can be combined into a single network. Convergence can be seen in can be seen in multiple services like telephone line, cable and internet offered by a single company. However not all functions can be converged like Bluetooth. This leads to divergence of the network.
Software Agents :- They are deployed across the network whose function is data mining, act on that data, observing trends, carry out tasks and adapting to their environment. They help in providing assistance to people with applications and services and helping them get their work done.
