Daijha McCrae 9W October 8th The Renaissance was a time noted for a "rebirth" of learning. the Renaissance is described as a reentrance into the world. It gave a rebirth of classical learning and a rediscovery of Greece and Rome.
When translated to english the French word renaissance means rebirth. This is a perfect description of the event. The Renaissance was a time of rebirth for people between the 1300s and the 1600s, in Florence, Italy. A time of education and self discovery. The Renaissance served as a transitional time between the Middle Ages and the Modern Age.
What exactly was the Renaissance? Well I’m glad you asked, the Renaissance was technically a ‘’rebirth’’ or ‘’revival’’ of art and literature, as some people would describe it as, and it had started in Europe around the year of 1400 and had lasted until about the 1700s. The Renaissance was a time of intellectual excitement, when art and literature blossomed and groundbreaking scientific advances were being made. During this period of time large parts of scientific and cultural advances were beginning to develop, and people were beginning to see themselves in a new way. The Renaissance changed man’s view of man in at least four areas: Art, Astronomy, Literature, and last but not least Human Anatomy.
A renaissance is a rebirth of art and literature. It is also a French word, meaning “rebirth”. Throughout history, it has been shown that social and philosophical changes are represented in the form of art during a renaissance. Beliefs and values throughout society are being reborn by these changes. Artists have always been involved during periods of societal change to express the experiences of the people who are going through changes in their way of living and working.
The Great Artists of the Renaissance The Renaissance was an era of great masterpieces and ingenuity from the minds of the greatest artists in the history of humankind. Renaissance literally means "rebirth", which is fitting because this time period was the revival period for learning and values of the Ancients. This time period was thought by scholars to be a time of revival and upbringing from the dark times of the Middle Ages in which learning was lost.
The word "renaissance" is literally translated to "rebirth". It was the rebirth of many things, and in many ways. It began in Northern Italy in about 1350, after the Black Death killed about one third of the population; so the renaissance could even be considered the rebirth of the nation. It was mainly however, the rebirth of art, literature, education, and even religion. Donatello earned a reputation for himself for creating "larger-than-life" sculptures with many different techniques that he developed and then introduced to the renaissance era.
Leonardo da Vinci was not only a painter but also an architect, and inventor. Due to this he was known as The Renaissance Man (Bio.com Staff). Leonardo’s paintings have had a lasting impact on the Renaissance era. His most known pieces of work are The Last Supper and Mona Lisa.
The Renaissance was a period in time where everything started to change after the middle ages. During this historical period humans stared evolving by becoming smarter and inventing useful recourses that have changed the world. The renaissance was a life changing period which brought more joy to the world after conquering the dark ages. The Renaissance changed man’s view on the world by using Art, Science and Literature to make humans brighter and because of the rapid information they were gaining. Art during the Renaissance grew rapidly because of Leonardo Da Vici, and Michelangelo who changed the way people painted and drew by creating strategies which made art more interesting.

The Mona Lisa was a portrait of a woman that developed a meaning, people said it’s a symbol of the Renaissance information which came from this quote. “The Mona Lisa was originally this type of portrait, but over time its meaning has shifted and it has become an icon of the Renaissance perhaps the most recognized painting in the world.”
The Renaissance was a time period of rebirth in Europe. The Renaissance began in the 14th century and lasted to the 17th century. During this time there was many advances in art, literature and science. One well known scientist that lived during the Renaissance was Galileo Galilei. Galileo had a significant impact on science of the Renaissance because of his discoveries in the fields of astronomy and physics.
The renaissance was a time of many different improvements and changes to the era previous to it, the medieval ages, the renaissance re-introduced many different Roman and Greek traditional aspects, so much so that renaissance literally translates into “rebirth” in French. Other changes include social such as the rise of humanism and humanist beliefs, secularism, individualism, big changes in mathematical studies, sciences and all types of learning in general, the printing press invention, as well as religious changes, and the arts were also affected and changed with techniques such as chiaro-scuro, perspective, sfumato, and further more to be explained. The “Mona Lisa” is the best known and most visited piece of art. It is a portrait painting done by Leonardo de Vinci. The portrait is an oil painting on a white Lombardy poplar panel. The woman in the portrait is sat upright in an armchair, with her arms folded. This painting was one of the first portraits that depicted the sitter in front of an imaginary landscape.
