Malcolm X was a very impactful figure in the civil rights movement during the 1960s. Born Malcolm Little, he later became known as Malcolm X after joining the Nation of Islam. His message and activism influenced many, even after his untimely death in 1965.
Malcolm X’s movement was mostly about changing systemic racism and inequality towards African Americans. The goals of the movement were to achieve true equality for Black Americans, challenge White supremacy, and end wrongful police violence against black people. The movement worked towards self-empowerment within Black communities and sought to overturn discriminatory laws that upheld segregation.
Many groups and organizations were involved
