In the Middle Ages men would wear their hair long and shaggy with beards or mustaches. Women would have long hair with it natural or braided. Some men would have a bowl haircut, it was popular by European men, it was plain and short with straight bangs on your forehead and the rest of your hair left the same length; they would have their sideburns and back of their head shaved.
