The Renaissance artist had the largest impact in early modern Europe. One reason was the early work of Michelangelo in 1475 to 1564. The text says “The early work of Michelangelo (1475-1564), particularly the gigantic David he created to stand in front of Florence’s town hall, represents the humanist ideals of the Renaissance at their purest” (Frankforter and Spellman pg.350).
