The Percy Jackson series is majorly influenced by Greek Mythology as the author, Rick Riordan told. The series soon after became 2 films which then sparked an interest to the youths. Before becoming a world-renowned author, Riordan used to teach Greek myths. He earned his inspiration from his son whom has asked him to make up myths and stories about Greek heroes. This series is essentially Greek mythology in modern time. In the Lightning Thief, Perseus the “son of Poseidon” is falsely accused of steeling Zeus’ master-bolt.
