Otis Boykin was an African American electronic inventor born on August 29th, 1920 in Dallas, Texas. Otis’s mother, Sarah, who was a maid, died of heart failure when Otis was only a year old, which inspired him to invent a control unit later on. His father Walter was a carpenter who later on became a minister. After Otis graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1938, he went on to attend Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee in which he graduated from in 1941. In that same year, Otis took a job as a lab assistant with the Majestic Radio and TV Corporation in Chicago, Illinois.
He started getting into meteorology then went to Fort Myers to study it. He was assigned to Little Rock, Arkansas and predicted the weather. Then he was assigned to Fort Concho and then Abilene, Texas where he met his wife Cora. In Abilene he would predict the weather and he saved people 's live when he predicted floods on the Brazos and Colorado rivers. He joined the faculty of the University of Texas Medical School.

As technology advanced even more, the people of the U.S, decided to invest in space ships. They used these spaceships to put the first man on the moon. It showed just how advanced America was.
The first public exhibition of moving images was the Projecting Praxinoscope. This invention showed images, on a loop, through a series of mirrors. The next revolutionary invention was Kinetograph Camera and the Kinetoscope viewing box. With a series of thinly sliced film, the images were pulled through the camera and viewing box, creating a black and white short film. The creation of the Kinetograph influenced the entire history of cinema.
