When did Ramses II rule?
Ramses ascended to the Pharaoh in 1279 B.C.E when he was twenty-five years old. He became the third pharaoh, in the Egyptian 19th Dynasty. Becoming a Pharaoh at that age brought some problems. People assumed he was an inexperienced king, and did not respect him at first, contrary to this believe he was a experienced king, and military figure. When he was only 10 years old he was helping his father(who was Pharaoh at the time) plan sieges to nearby rebellions. His rule lasted for 67 years, which made it the longest rule of any pharaoh in Ancient Egypt. Ramses II ruled in what archaeologists called “The New Kingdom”, which was Ancient Egypt’s Golden Age. Ramses’s rule was a peaceful one.
How did Ramses II rise to power?
Ramses II rose to power, by royal blood. His father Seti I, was pharaoh before him, and sent him into military training at the age of 10. From then on his youth was lessons about military tactics, and training to commander an entire army. His father was very persistent with his training, and continued to train him,

When Ramses II returned home, people celebrated him as a hero. Ramses II had done lots of things over his reign, but the battle of Kadesh was his most glorious feat. After that Ancient Egypt settled once again, and Ramses II was now building different monuents and palaces of himself. Ramses II had also constructed a village of builders and craftmen(named Deir El Medineh) to construct two beautiful tombs for himself, and his wife Nerfertari. Ramses had constructed loads of amazing temples and citites, by his late years, including: Abu Simbel, Ramesseuem and the Per-Ramses(which I mentioned earlier).
