Spartacus lived during the first century BCE. A Thracian by birth, he was enslaved by the Roman Army, and trained as a gladiator. He later escaped and became a leader of some 90,000 men in an uprising against Rome. The conflict came to be known as the Gladatorial War and Spartacus is thought to have died during its final battle in 41 BCE. The remainder of his men were crucified by the Romans. Spartacus left an impact on the relationships between slaves and there owners. He risked his life trying to rebel against slavery ad help slaves become free, and that makes him so significant. Spartacus faced many moral dilemas thoughout the film. Ultimately he had to ask himself if he should remain a slave or, rise up and lead a slave rebellion as he searched for freedom. …show more content…

It was a very long arduous life. Slaves were treated like animals, and there owners had no common courtesy for them at all. After years of being enslaved, Spartacus was sold and began raining to be a Thracian gladiator. Being a gladiator might seem nice, but it sure was not, They had strict dicipline, and were trained all day. They fought in the Collisum where people were screaming having fun watching them kill on another. I guess it may be fun to watch, but not to be in. Spartacus escaped gladiator school in 73 BC along with some 70 other gladiators, and then took refuge on Mount Vesuvious.
