Communism was considered attractive because it promised to promote equality and create a harmonious community of people. Additionally, Communism had nominally succeeded in Soviet Union. Stalin’s reforms had advanced the Soviet Union from an impoverished farming society to an industrialized society with great international power. However, Communist ideology would not succeed today.
