An European art history is the history of Christianity. in the 4th century, the Christian suffered about 300 years of persecution, then Constantine I admitted that Christianity was the official religion of the roman empire. Since then, countless religious painting was born, and produced plenty of masterpiece and master of art. Although today, religious painting is no longer the mainstream, but deeply religious impregnation of nearly 2000 years, western artists have religious faith materialized in the picture.
