The industrial revolution took place during the 18th and 19th centuries . The industrial revolution began in 1700s . Before that manufacturing was done in people's homes using basic tools and machines . It began in Britain , Industrialization was the beginning for powered , special-purpose machinery , factories and mass production . Industrialization increased volume and variety of manufactured goods and an improved standard of living for some . It also caused grim employment and living conditions for the poor and working classes . Industrialization was created to help people's standard of living . At the time farmers made their shoes , and women spent their time making candles , or spinning yarn . Some products were even exchanged with food …show more content…

The government helped protect American manufacturers by passing a protective tariff . The Industrial Revolution began for many reasons . The first reason was that countries/states had the resources that were needed for industrialization . The second reason are innovation which was helped by the variety and amount of English thinkers and inventors being able to communicate effectively and quickly about their new farming and factory techniques . The third reason were the lack of internal tariffs and the lack of political interference in business . These were just some of the reasons . Geography and resources were an important part of the Industrial Revolution essentially because England had coal which powered machines , iron from which the machines were created and wool which the machines made into thread and then textiles . Waterways cut down on shipping and cost . Also enclosures allowed large farms to operate on / in any interference in / with / from peasants / a peasant / the peasant needs
