How Did the Whiskey Rebellion Affect the Country? In order to understand how the Whiskey rebellion affected this country we first need to understand what our country fought for during the Revolutionary War. We all know the war was for independence, but that was not the entire reasoning behind the war. There were three things that we fought against during the war the first was the fact that our country was being oppressed by the King. The second was tyranny, and the last was being the taxes being imposed on the colonies.
The Second Great Awakening was similar to the First Great Awakening in that it was a religious revival of Protestant churches in the United States. However, unlike the First Great Awakening, the Second Great Awakening led to the development for many reform movements. Two movements that were greatly influenced by the Second Great Awakening were the temperance movement, a concern for the morality of the American people and their families, and the increase in utopian communities, due to the increased spiritual feeling. The temperance movement became popular during the Second Great Awakening due to religious feeling and concern for family.
For example, people’s salary was spent on alcohol, led to physical abuse, sickness, and the hatred effects of drinking on families. Alcohol consumption would hurt workers’ efficiency, which some employers believed would happen. There were this movement which advocated the moderation or elimination of alcohol that were emerging from concerns it was called, “The Temperance Movement.” This movement were mainly led by women where two groups were created one in the year 1874 while the other in the year 1893 there names were the Women’s Christian Temperance Union and the Anti-Saloon League. This movement was supposed to only work out to cut alcohol consumption, but was later pressed for prohibition laws banning the manufacture, sale, and consumption of alcohol.

Some schools have gotten to the point where printed handwriting is no longer taught and technology is the primary source. In my opinion, cursive writing should still be instructed in schools today. Being able to write in cursive is a practical life skill that provides people with an abundance of opportunities. In addition, numerous documents from our World’s history are written in cursive and a copious amount of students are not able to read documents because of this.
