“The Underground Railroad was a secret network of abolitionists who helped African Americans escape from enslavement in the American South to free Northern states or to Canada.”(Henry) They were a group of people who wanted to effect change. There are still a lot of groups and individuals who wants to effect change and be able to help others achieve the better life that they want for themselves. These people are trying to gain equality. They should take the opportunity that is given to them to effect change and change can only occur when they take action. There are people who took this opportunity to effect change like Mary Jackson, The Black Panther Party, and the group of abolitionist who created the underground railroad. The people who wants to have effect in change to people’s lives can only occur when they take action. Every human being wants to have a title in their society. Just like Mary Jackson who went to court for her to attend an all white high school. She is telling that she can also do things that a man can do. That there is no need for other people to criticized her because of her gender and her color. She is taking the chance that was given to her by fighting for what she wants to achieve. She wants to achieve equality between men and women. She stood up for herself so that she is able to enter the all white high school. The problem with other people are they sometimes think that they are always the best and act like there is no one that can go against
