There have been many artists throughout the world that have captivated audiences through their works of art with their own personal use of the way they see and use the visual elements and principle of design in their artwork. One famous artist, for example, would be Vincent Van Gogh and his artwork, “A Starry Night,” where the image depicts a town at night, which is one of the visual elements as everyone can probably imagine a town at night time with the stars and moon in the sky. Van Gogh takes his image of the nighttime sky and turns it into one of his most famous pieces of artwork. The first thing that can be recognized in visual elements would be how Van Gogh used color with depicting what the color of nighttime truly is, with the yellow for the stars and moon, making them shine brightly as if they were the real thing to showcase them in the paining along with the use of the colors black and blue to depict the sky and sleeping town, as there is no sun and it is dark outside, so black and blue are the perfect colors to reproduce the night. …show more content…

Trees look scary and foreboding at night as they seem to take on their own essence of life as they are alive in their own way. Van Gogh uses the tree like some modern day skyscraper, trying to touch the sky, looking big and scary over the small sleeping
