World War One (WW1) began in 1914 and ended in 1918. It was a turning point in world history. More than 15 million people died during WW1, many died during battles which were not won or lost, just ones that left people only dead and wounded. WW1 had involved troops in from around the world including Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Oceania. Most of the fighting took place in Europe and the Middle East.
World War 1 started in 1914 and went through 4 years and ended in the year 1918. The war started out with an assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Austria then declared war on Serbia and Serbia had Russia as its allies. Russia threatened Austria then Austria told Germany the problem and Germany declared war on Russia and its ally which was France. Germany went into Belgium and then Britain entered the war on the Russian side.

There were four fronts: Eastern front, Western front, Atlantic front, and Middle Eastern front. All the actions that took place in each front all led to the armistice being signed on the eleventh of November. World War I started as mainly a European conflict seeing as most allies originated from countries in Europe and Europe had most of the power, but in the end it expanded to beyond Europe as outside countries were brought into the conflict for multiple reasons.
World War I was a big moment for America, a time when an nation involved itself in world affairs and began the rise to the economic and military power that America is today. The people of America were affected by world war one in many ways. They were first limited to what they could buy including sugar so that they can provide rations for countries. Full freedom for colored people was a problem in other words there were second class citizens. Finally we went into an everlasting chain of fighting were all these countries were fighting and sticking up for each other and it was just a huge big fight that america didn't need to get involved in.

World War 1 lasted from 1914 to 1919 and rudimentarily, was the fight between the Allied powers and the Central powers. The Allied powers consisted of France, Great Britain, Russia, and Belgium while the Central powers consisted of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire. All countries had some participation and damage done throughout World War 1, and the countries who started the war may be obscure. The United States traded with the Allies before the United States joined the war and during the war which gave the U.S. more jobs,money, and more joy. War profits that were invested into the industrialization, helped the economy become stronger. However, industrialization was insanely horrible for the United States during 1865-1900, for the reasons of working conditions, corruption and the boom and bust cycle. The working conditions in the factories, that the workers faced were scandalous. These horrible working conditions resulted in the workers performing strikes because of unhealthy environments, low wages and overcrowding.
America was impacted by many changes during World War I. These included an increased military presence and higher taxes to support the military preparedness, along with political rallying not previously seen around national support for involvement in the war. The Selective Service Act of May 1917 was the first time American men had to register for military service, and it was also during this time the government first used propaganda to promote the war effort. Additionally during this same period, women were allowed to vote, and Americans were encouraged to spy on their neighbors and report any acts that may be detrimental to the war effort. America’s involvement in World War I was by far the most impactful on the lives of Americans than any previous wartime involvement, and it was the beginning of many more changes for the American people.

America tried to stay neutral throughout most of the conflict, but Woodrow Wilson’s policy and public opinion changed in favor of the U.S. entry into World War One. Congress voted to declare war on Germany on April 6, 1917, and America then entered the war and joined its allies-Britain, France, and Russia. The war first erupted in 1914.
In World War 1 a lot changed for the United States. One things that changed was their foreign policy. We know it changed because they went from a period of isolationism to being involved in world affairs. We are going to look at how the war changed American society, why they entered the war, and the foreign policy change. During World War 1 a lot changed about American society.
As companies were easing back from the war-time economy, people were buying more things. As the elected presidents of that time gave tax cuts and vetoed bills in their favor, companies were growing. With the growth of companies, their workers were getting higher wages and more people were employed, giving them excess money. More money meant that people were able to buy things previously unable to. Some of these new things were like the Model T Ford, the Band-Aid and the television.
