World War II was a global conflict that lasted from 1939 to 1945 and involved many major countries. The war began with the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany. It rapidly spread throughout Europe and progressed to outside countries. The thing that most angered Germany and could even be labeled as the origin of World War II was The Treaty of Versailles at the end of World War I. The treaty imposed heavy reparations on Germany, limited its military capacity, and forced it to give up territory to neighboring countries.
Both World War I (WWI) and World War II (WWII) changed the idea of freedom by expanding rights in America. Before these wars, there was inequality among genders as well as ethnic groups. WWI was a fight democracy and WWII was a fight for true freedom. While WWI changed the idea of freedom in a social sense, WWII focused more on the idea of economic freedom. WWI changed the idea of freedom more for democracy than WWII did by dealing with civil liberties and social issues.
World War II lasted from 1939 until 1945. The vast majority of the world’s nations participated in this global war, eventually forming two opposing alliance’s, the Allies and the Axis. As the most widespread war in history, more than 100 million people from 30 different countries were directly involved. The major participants threw their entire economic, industrial, and scientific capabilities into the war effort, which blurred the lines between civilian and military resources. The war resulted in an estimated 50 million to 85 million fatalities, making World War II the deadliest conflict in history (Sommerville 5).
There are many events I know of that changed the world and impacted society, but I think that WWII played a big role in how we turned out. Women’s roles changed, weapons that we use today improved, and the economy changed after the war. WWII impacted women’s roles. Before the war, women’s rights weren’t that great and they weren’t great even after they helped in WWI.
The war resulted in 407,000 Americans being killed. The trauma from the war was also expressed in American culture. The war also resulted in many new technologies such as radio communications, jet engines, computer, radar, and many others. The end of WWII left the world with two superpowers: us and Russia. Thus began the arms race and the red scare.

During the last stages of the war, the United States dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Over 180,000 civilians lost their lives (American Yawp). This massacre left many people questioning America’s motivation for using such a destructive weapon.
My understanding of World War II has changed greatly, I have come to learn that we were not as innocent as we say we were. We were biased in many ways, we indirectly invoked our involvement in the war. We studied World War I, and at the time, I thought that the espionage act was unconstitutional. I now think that is was a necessary evil after seeing the separation on the home front. In World War II we were more united and separated than ever before.

His role in the Holocaust is greatly significant because of the way that he punished, treated, and through of jews using concentration camps. In concentration camps jews were gassed, imprisoned and forced to do things that they didn't want to like forced labor.
