World War I was a big moment for America, a time when an nation involved itself in world affairs and began the rise to the economic and military power that America is today. The people of America were affected by world war one in many ways. They were first limited to what they could buy including sugar so that they can provide rations for countries. Full freedom for colored people was a problem in other words there were second class citizens. Finally we went into an everlasting chain of fighting were all these countries were fighting and sticking up for each other and it was just a huge big fight that america didn't need to get involved in.
World War One was a huge event in World History, and it is widely considered as a terrible thing although it may not be as bad as you may think. As time continues, society evolves. This centuries evolution could be inspired by and correlated alongside World War One. Seeing what Canada is today, it may not have been possible without the First World War. The First World War had the most significant impact on the Canadian nation, changing it for decades to come.
The stay at home mothers would take care of their children, cook, unsullied, and be a housewife. They were supple mentally required to do everything for their husbands. Women did not go to work, weren’t treated with rights and could not vote. However once World War I occurred the women played an astronomically immense role in being nurses for the wounded. While men were at war the women accommodated in hospitals and availed the injured back to avail.
On July 28, 1914 the Great War began, but no one had any idea how much this war would change everyone’s lives. World War I would last over four years, and would claim anywhere from nine million lives to thirteen million lives. On November 11, 1918 Germany formally surrendered, and now that the war was finally over it was time to set some rules to ensure that peace was here to stay. Although everyone was doing what they thought was best for everyone involved in reality it may have all been a terrible idea. Unfortunately, it is possible that there was so much guilt and shame thrown into these “rules” that it lead to World War II.
In my opinion, the outcome of World War I harmed the domestic policies and systems of the United States. From the result of the war, there were changes dealing with politics, economics, and public opinions in the United States. Relating to politics, Wilson 's goal of the United States becoming part of the League of Nations was an overall negative effect on Wilson 's reputation. The constant nagging of Wilson to get the United States to join hurt his reputation by the people and the government. Although the United States did not join, the League of Nations was created but did not live up to the country 's expectations.
After World War 1, the effects on people were tremendous. It has affected the people’s minds and hearts physically and mentally. A things lot of our culture and society has changed today because of it. Many people may not know why we do the things we do was because of the Great War. Caused by a group of people that we might see as today funny and out of context, but these are actual historical events that takes a big part in our lives.
During 1914 to 1939, to a huge extent political, social, and economic changes contribute to increasing Canadian identity. When World War 1 (WW1) began, the social events had contributed to the Canadian identity which are the Conscription, Women and Change, and Technological Changes. Financing the War Effort, growing economy, and the Great Depression that happened had affected the economy in Canada. Last, The Battle of Vimy Ridge, Halibut Treaty, and New Political Parties had affected the political changes. During the time period of 1914 to 1939, the social, economic, and political changes that happened in Canada contributed to an improved sense of Canadian identity.
The impacts of World War One on America included economic, political, and social effects. Social effects included fashion. Before the war, women would change up to three times a day. During the war, women took a simple look due to the conservation of materials for the war. Political impacts included the Treaty of Versailles and the League of Nations.
With the steady increase in gaining nobility of women’s equality, began the war effort, which was beneficial for the fight of gender equality. It illustrated women as important figures, and strong contributors to the world around them. Women during World War 1, contributed significantly by sewing socks and clothing for the men and providing money to promote and give assistance to the war effort, while still nurturing children and maintaining their set housewife duties. Although, some women during World War 1, were sent to work in factories to keep the economy stable, while others served as nurses to provide aid for the wounded soldiers.
World war 1 was a very catastrophic moment in the world. World war1 was very intense and bad. World war 1 was very unique because it was very much different from other wars. Another reason why World war 1 was unique was because people used advanced industrial technology and weapons. And also because the unprecedented number of countries that took part.
Although World War II may have happened years ago, it’s effect has had a lasting impact on the United States of America. Once the war ended a breeze of change traveled around the world resulting in many differences changing America. Ultimately the changes that blew over America after World War 2 included baby boomers, civil rights movement, and women in the workforce. Exactly nine months after World war 2 ended “the cry of the baby was heard across the land” as historian Landon Jones described.
Not to mention,World War 1 also caused social ramifications. Examples of this was women being taken into the work force and African Americans being able to join the military. During World War 1, women in America were able to take on the jobs men performed. Even women were able to join the military. Even though they did not perform tasks that men performed they became nurses and performed clerical work in the military.
Societies often change as a result of wars, for example, France after its Revolutionary War. Throughout history, American society has been altered due to the many wars the country has fought. One specific war which has made an impact is World War II. Not only did fighting on foreign fronts impact society, but the experiences of those left behind at the home front has also significantly influenced society. The many trials which women and Japanese-Americans faced have changed the way that American society functions.
Nobody was ecstatic with the outbreak of the World War I, but it is a great chance for American to consolidate their international status by improve themselves on different fields. The most significant one is economy. One New York magazine stated “An European war seems to ensure the future of the world economy belongs to the American continent, especially belongs to North America. So although America keep a neutral role at beginning of the World War I, but America didn’t stay out of the war completely.
It has been argued that World War I (WW1) and World War II (WW2) were events in history that have largely contributed to the structure of modern society. In order to better understand the cause and effect of events that led to WW1 and WW2, it is useful to analyze the contemporary social/political structures and the priorities that existed within these societies. It will become evident that, due to growing tensions and anxieties in Europe, decisions with regard to the improvement of political structures were rushed, leading to the rise of fascism and communism in European nations. In the late 1800’s, colonialism was in full force and had established itself as an efficient way to increase population and wealth.
