World War II was a war that lasted from 1939 through 1945. This war of course affected the United States of America and numerous other countries that will be discussed throughout this essay. The World War 2 began on September 1, 1939, when the German army invaded Poland. It ended 6 years after with the surrender of Japan on September 2, 1945. The war included all of the great powers and ended up forming two military alliances. The Allies and the Axis. This was the most worldwide war affecting over 100 million people. World War II highly affected numerous civilians all over the world. It is arguably one of the most significant periods during the 20th century.
