How Do The Three Witches Meet Up In Macbeth

In the opening scenes of “Macbeth” three witches meetup and discuss how they are going to meet up again after the battle and confront Macbeth. At a military camp near Forres, The King of Scotland speaks to a wounded captain and asks for news about the Scots’ battle with the Irish. He tells them about how strong the Scottish generals, Macbeth and Duncan, are great fighters. Duncan decides to give Macbeth Cawdor’s title after defeated. The three witches meet up as planned and hear news that Macbeth is coming. The witches address him as both names and when he hears them call him “thane of Cawdor” he is shocked. Macbeth tries to figure out everything that is going on. Macbeth and his friend Banquo talk about the weird exchange. Macbeth finds out that Duncan intends to name Malcolm the heir to the throne and Macbeth makes a mental note of that. The events taking place make me think that Macbeth will try and execute Malcolm. I think that because of what the witches said he won’t let it go and will allow that to take over his mind. At first I thought Macbeth was a nice noble fighter but now I see that he has other intentions. His mind is set on the crown and that is all. Based on Duncan’s actions in naming Malcolm heir I think that Macbeth will try and hurt Duncan now.I thought that the witches were going to keep their mouths shut about wanting Macbeth to be …show more content…

Macbeth wouldn’t have the bad thoughts of killing someone in order to be king. What is the author's intent/reasoning for having the witches tell Macbeth about the overheard conversation? By telling Macbeth, it sets the mood for the entire set and allows there to be suspense. Who’s point of view is missing? I think that Duncan's point of view is missing considering we don’t know why he chose Malcolm over Macbeth. Also Macbeth's true point of view is missing. We do not know exactly what is going on in his head about all of this that the witches are
