Virgil presents the epic of Rome homage to Homers Greek Odyssey; Aeneas is a refugee who faced victories and disputes towards the discovery of Rome. The Gods cause those problems alone. One of the Gods includes Juno. Juno is a goddess married to Jupiter. Juno is upset with Aeneas decision of ruling Rome instead of Carthage. She hoped to have Carthage to be the city to takeover instead of it being destroyed by the Trojans. Also, she grudges Paris for choosing Venus (God of beauty, love) as the most beautiful goddess. This sparked rage and Juno persuaded the King of winds, Aeolus to send wind towards the boat sailing near Sicily to sink. Her wish is commanded and Aeolus lets out the winds against the Trojans. However, it backfired once Juno’s brother Neptune (the god of sea) soothed the waves and saved the few remaining ships left.
Aeneas and his friend Achates receive a message from Aeneas mother Venus (the goddess of love, beauty, victory) that one missing ship there belongs to Dido. Dido is the queen of Carthage. Once Venus shared the story of how Dido became Queen, she advises him to speak to her. Aeneas enters the city feeling welcomed. Dido listens to Aeneas heroic story and embraces him. Venus is worried about her son Aeneas getting attacked by Juno, so she sends her son cupid to make Dido fall in love with

He speaks on the Trojan War that occurred ten years ago in Troy. The hideout for the solders was a horse. The Greeks who were losing the war built the horse. A priest named Laocoon saw the horse and was skeptical of what of it was exactly. He had a feeling it wasn’t actually a horse. However, a young Greek Sinon persuades the Trojans to not sacrifice him. Sinon starts to share the meaning behind the horse. Stating that the horse was a gift for the goddess Minerva. The Trojans were happy to hear that because they believed the horse would actually make the Greeks lose the war once it enters
