Alcohol has had a vast variety of views and beliefs over the years but in recent years it has sparked up quite an issue. Alcohol has been abused and misused which has caused controversy and speculations as to whether its safe for responsible use or not. However most alcohol abuse is caused by our adolescents from ages 15-24 years old. For some it would have been to pass the time, an escape from reality or just social consumption at celebrations and parties etc. But the constant misuse began to cause addicting and dangerous factors in our youth society leading to more and more occasions in which youths have been drunk driving, hospitalised or involved with the police. It helps to interact and mix and mingle with other co-workers, friends and family. It's a way to relax and ease off stress as well as have some fun. Different countries have different ways of utilizing the drinking culture they have. It can be seen as a way for work promotions and sorts of business connections to benefit the country. Either way it's one of the most important and popular cultures a country has. However as a result of our binge drinking culture it takes a toll on our societies facilities like Police call outs, health care etc. According to a 2012 facts sheet coming from alcohol.org states that ⅓ of police apprehension calls involve alcohol as well as 52 alcohol related offences being committed every day nationwide. These so called wasted resources aren’t necessarily wasted, but can be used on much more important and resourceful things which would benefit our society. Alcohol related offences alone cause 108,000 call outs to emergency services each year which costs our country billions in health care resources which could be used elsewhere for education purposes, furnishing the city and other higher priority things on the list. However it’s not all negative and downside from there but there are also positive impacts.
