Globalisation is the interaction and integrating in society of people, trading companies and government, driven by trade and investment through technological aid. Globalisation can impact upon a town/city’s culture and has several different variations through trade, politics, religion, language, etc. An interesting argument to make is how language, religion and culture are influenced in St Helens over the years, and how Globalisation has affected these variations.
In regards to religion, St Helens has had a connection to both Roman Catholicism and Christianity, with Roman Catholicism being strong from 1321, until the change of faith with the crowning of Elizabeth I, cementing Britain into Christianity. St Helens’ religion has changed significantly
