Indoor play encourages children to develop their cognitive and language skills, as there are more resources revolving around literacy development, such as reading books. The resources within indoor paly are more specific for specific skills, but this also allows us to mould the surroundings to then encourage further learning and development. For example, within classrooms, and other areas within the environment, there are displays showing the theme of the month, providing education information to support the children's learning and development due to subliminal learning. The activities for indoor play are generally a lot safer and can be used despite the weather. This can help to ensure that learning is occurring within the students. Indoor play goes hand in hand with learning, as play helps to reduce the stress of the students, which results in them being mentally ready to learn. This is very important when there are students which might have a disability preventing them normally engaging with the equipment to allow for both indoor and outdoor play.
