How does Instructional Design differ between synchronous, asynchronous, and mobile delivery formats?
⦁ Synchronous is instructor led. The instructor controls instructional timing and pacing.
⦁ Asynchronous is Self-Paced or Autonomous. The learner control instructional timing and pacing.
⦁ Mobile eLearning is Activity-Based, Discovery-Based and Problem-Based Learning. The learner control instructional timing and pacing.
What are the characteristics that make [synchronous, asynchronous, mobile] more desirable to you as an ID?
As an instructional designer, I personal prefer asynchronous and mobile e-learning. And, also I think it could be a good idea to combine asynchronous and mobile e-learning at the same time. I had Dr.Howell's knowledge guru game last semester and I had good time on that game. I can see there are lots potential for the mobile game learning. I would love to develope a new learning app which based on the knowledge guru game. Also, I think radio app is also good for mobile learning. The learner can listen to the app when they are driving, just like listen to a book.
How would you assess the efficacy of that mode of delivery?
I think data is the most effect way for assess a mode of delivery. How to keeps the student active is one of the keys for success of e-learning. When the students stay on active, their data will increase and it means the model is
