He has transformed into the same values as Rube and Cam but he has strengthened those values. Those values are maturity, understanding the ability to change and lastly his moral development. Scrooge has been developing into a better person throughout the whole novel with the assistance of the first two ghosts, but he was not fully civilized until the final ghost appeared. The ghost of Christmas Future was the final piece of the puzzle to fully turn Scrooge into a warm hearted man. But the ghost was ruthless and didn’t make it easy.
In the story A Christmas Carol, a greedy man is visited by many spirits to change his mind about Christmas and his view of the world. They all use several tactics that are very different. Eventually, Scrooge comes around and becomes a good person. The question is, which spirit affected Scrooge’s decision the most? The Ghost of Christmas Present influenced Scrooge’s decision the most as he showed him the reality of people’s poverty, the joy of Christmas, and scared him with the prospect of greed in the future.
A Christmas Carol was written by Charles Dickens. The story is about a character named Ebenezer Scrooge. All he cared about was money and himself. He changes throughout the story with the help of three ghosts. Scrooge made a substantial amount of changes.
We come to learn that Scrooge changes with his attitude. One quote from the text that accurately confirms this is…“No warmth could warm, no wintry weather could chill him. ”(page 3). This excerpt from the text explains how troubled and insecure he is inside, using a metaphorical perspective. We, as the readers, can draw inferences and conclusions on how loathsome he seems.
The first topic we are going to start on is how Scrooge became less mean and more kind. My first reason for this is that he started treating others nicely. Since Ebenezer Scrooge’s business partner Jacob marley died he started pushing everyone away. Like when his nephew tried to help Scrooge by inviting them to his meal.
Scrooge had a new will to live inside him. The new awakening made him realize he could be good, kind, and giving. Scrooge was a man who was reborn on christmas day. His transformation is clear as just the morning before, he woke up as the miserly man he used to be, as to awakening his new birth on christmas morning with a fond Christian Christmas spirit. (Karson 142).
This quote shows us that when he realized it was him being treated like that and how nobody cared about him and gives no respect, he knows in his heart that that is actually what people think about him. Another example is when Scrooge starts to participate and show emotion towards things he never thought he would, for example “ ‘Spirit said Scrooge, with an interest he had never felt before, ‘ tell me if Tiny Tim will live’ “ (Dickens 70). This small detail shows us that Scrooge had cared for someone that he never thought he would, and that interested him. In conclusion, Scrooge’s change is portrayed real in many situations throughout the story and his journey, this shows us that he is truly starting to

It comes up in every chapter of the book, starting in the first chapter, where he walks down the sidewalk, ignoring everyone, to the second chapter where he adores his master as much as his master is fond of him. It is there in the third chapter, where Scrooge's assistant is kind to him, in hope that Scrooge will be nicer back. It appears again in the fourth and fifth chapters where he wishes to be nice so others are nice too him, and then becomes nice with the retaliation of others being nice to him. The whole story is ghosts trying to convince Scrooge to be nicer, so others will be nicer to him. The Title of the book could very well be “Scrooge being convinced that being nice is better than being mean, so that others will be nice to him once he’s dead.”
Scrooge’s Transformation Essay In the Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, the main character, Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three spirits, past, present, and future. When the spirits take Scrooge to the past present and future, Scrooge undergoes a major transformation Dickens demonstrates this by showing that Scrooge changed from a lonely, greedy man, that didn’t like Christmas and dislike people to a generous man that likes Christmas and was more accepting of other people. Dickens shows this change through Scrooge’s actions while traveling through time with the spirits.
In the modern world today, people find their own ways to protest things that they are upset with. In Victorian England, Charles Dickens protested against many aspects of Victorian life in his book, A Christmas Carol. One example of Victorian life Dickens criticized was the treatment of the poor. Another aspect Dickens protested was the attitude of the rich, and how the rich forsake the poor. One final characteristic of Victorian life that Dickens attacked was working conditions for everyone.
Since his journey with the Spirits Scrooge became a better person. He honored Christmas and he did keep his word. He even gave Bop and his family a giant goose.(Dickens 34) Scrooge also went to Fred’s house and spent Christmas with him and his wife.(Dickens 35) Scrooge also gave Bob a raise.(Dickens 36) So in the end Scrooge becomes a wonderful person and learns what Christmas truly is

The story, “A Christmas Carol”, is about a cold-hearted man named Scrooge who transforms himself into a jolly, kind man when three Ghosts teach Scrooge about the spirit of Christmas. In the story, Charles Dickens illustrates the theme of how no one is past redemption through the transformation of Scrooge’s personality by the lessons of the Spirits. At the beginning of the story, Scrooge’s selfish personality is revealed, and the Ghost of Christmas Past comes and shows him the memories and truth of his life long ago.
Within one night, he became the most spirited man in town. Even if you have a bad reputation and have no friends, you can still be kind and people’s image of you can still change. This movie is very inspiring because it shows all the good things that Scrooge did after being a grouch. If Scrooge can become a good person, then who can’t? It can bring hope into people’s minds that they can also become a good and gentle person.
