How Does Social Media Affect Public Safety Agencies?

The era of the internet has brought about a state-of-the-art technology known as social media. The social network has provided a platform for the public safety agencies to keep in touch with the public as well as offering education. Despite this, there are challenges the safety agencies are facing when relating with the social network. The main objective of the research project is to investigate the challenges faced in the effective usage of social media in public safety agencies. In the recent years, social media has become an effective way of communication. The public safety agencies are currently utilizing the social media platform to connect with the public in a number of ways. However, there is inconsistency utilization of this particular media that has resulted to miscommunication and misinformation with the public (Kavanaugh et al. 2012).
