The topic is how does Stanley exist in a wasteland, this includes his physical environment, the people at camp, and Stanley’s life. Physical environment means human environment that includes purely physical factors (as soils, climate, water supply). The people at camp is self explanatory, how are the people at camp, and how they treat him. These are just 3 ways show that Stanley existing in a wasteland.
To begin, Stanley’s physical environment does not have any positive places to be in. If you think about it, he really can’t go anywhere there is the yellow spotted lizard, rattlesnakes, and scorpions. Heat is one of the main concerns, it is very hot so people just want to sit around but they have to dig holes. There is scarce water at camp, so if they are hot they have to wait for the water truck to come around. People at camp wanted to have fun but they couldn’t. This camp is to turn people good, so they try to avoid having fun to make them do the hard activites.

He was just happy that he had a friend and was friends with X-ray. Armpit was nice to him, he was not like the others. Most of his “friends” were just his “friends” to get something out of him, like a day off or find something. These are just examples that not everyone treats him fairly.
Furthermore, Stanley’s life was not very exciting, he was overweight and kids at school bullied him. He felt lonely already, because he had no siblings. People wouldn’t listen to him and he had no one to open up to so all his emotions were kept inside. He did not have the greatest life, and didn’t have a lot of exciting moments in life. These facts show that Stanley does not have a great life, and is not treated
