An ethical consideration that must be addressed in this case, is “1.07 privacy and confidentiality and 1.03 informed consent” from the NASW Code of Ethics. As a social work intern at an outpatient substance abuse treatment agency, the issue arises when writing monthly reports to probation officers. The client has signed all necessary forms for the agency and it is the social worker’s role not to disclose information without a valid consent from the client.

The NAADC Code of Ethics provides guidance for individuals in the addictions behavioral health field to perform as honest and virtuous professionals. Although, they may work from different angels, their common goals are for the well-fare of clients. Further, The ACA and NAADAC provide professionals guidelines for counselors to prepare them when providing treatment to clients. Both ethical codes can and will help you and provide you with the necessary information of what are ethical and what is not ethical behavior, it is essential in the counseling relationships (NAADAC, 2013). These codes help counselors to understand how their own values can interfere with the counseling interventions and how this can affect their patients.
Core Values and Ethical Principles The six core values recognized by the NASW Code of Ethics are: service, social justice, dignity and worth of person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence (NASW, 2008). These values are defined and expanded upon, and are then listed as ethical principles. Several of these principles apply to this case.
In the late hours of August 16, 1996, two young men, Daryl Renard Atkins and William Jones, both drunk and high off of marijuana, kidnapped twenty-one-year-old Eric Nesbitt. An ideal important from this section is 1-1.9, which states that each child whether disabled or not, has the same support services to succeed. This is important in the field of early childhood education, because each child has the right to learn, and succeed. It is a law that no child is left behind, and can receive the appropriate tools necessary to reach their full potential, whether disabled or not.

A relatively new issue, cultural integrity, correlates with the Code regarding “treatment of the human response.” The American Nurses Association’s “Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements”, also called the Code, highlights nurses’ consensus on professional principles. Nursing ethics guide how practitioners treat their patients and peers. Sensitivity to individual societal, familial and cultural background plays an important role in organizational integrity.
Planning is transforming socially, but to achieve change it has to bring together, politicians, planners, and residents (Sandercock, 2004). Citizen’s opinions and rights should be taken into consideration. It is the number one rule in the planning process for participants. It says, “recognize the rights of citizens to participate in planning decisions” (Ethical, n.d.). Cities cannot progress unless they change their ways of doing things.
As is well known, one of the most widely used illegal drugs in America is Marijuana. More importantly, Marijuana is responsible for addiction, motivational syndromes, and even negative impacts on the brain, “Studies show even casual marijuana use causes abnormalities in the density, volume and shape of the brain.” Aside from the fact that smoking Marijuana probably won’t cause painful death to its users, it is linked to “criminal behavior, unemployment, lower incomes, greater welfare dependence, and lower life satisfaction.” and even worse, “Potentially because of its impact on the brain, marijuana use doubles the risk of developing psychotic disorders like schizophrenia for those already prone to them.” A voter considering legalizing marijuana on Election Day should look past vested interests’ view that marijuana is safe.
A nurse must keep up to date on education and new processes in health-care, so they can provide the best care. As a nurse, you have promised to give each of your patients the best care that can possibly be given. Nurses must follow a code of ethics, to act safely, provide ethical care no matter how they feel about the patient or the reason they are in your care. Following this code of ethics shows your commitment to caring for people and society, it is a guide of ethics and standards to follow to keep everyone safe. Nursing is also a wonderful opportunity to meet hundreds of people from almost every nationality and every walk of life.
