In the article, “How Globalization Went Bad” by Steven Weber ET AL. The author gives several examples as to why having the United States as the single super power is not a good thing. Weber says, “The world has more international terrorism and more nuclear proliferation today than it did in 1990”. He believes International institutes have weakened and that the global financial system is unbalanced. Weber describes three axioms that he believes is causing globalization to go bad.

In axiom one he states, “Above a certain threshold of power, the rate at which new global problems are generated will exceed the rate at which old problems are fixed.” Weber believes that big countries like America are able to do what they want. They take advantage of smaller countries and don’t pay them and that causes massive amounts of debt. He believes the power should be spread and countries should hold each other accountable so large countries do not take …show more content…

This allows people to sell drugs, guns, and even start terrorist groups. He believes if all the power is spread out that provides larger countries to have zones to look over and govern to prevent terrorist groups from forming.

Axiom three states, “Without a real chance to find useful allies to counter a superpower, opponents will try to neutralize power, by going underground, going nuclear, or going bad”. Weber talks about how smaller countries try to make allies with larger countries but when there is an international issues the smaller countries have no one to lean on. Therefore, they turn to nuclear weapons because without them they don’t stand a chance against the larger
