Education has changed significantly over time. From the school system of Athens in the time of the Greeks and Romans, to the public schools of today, our views on who and what we should teach has widely varied. Knowing about the educational systems of the past can help us make decisions about our education in the future.
Education has been available to at least a select few people since the beginning of civilization. In fact, educating multiple students has been around since the era of the Mesopotamians. The Mesopotamians had taught a select few males to be scribes, or dubsar, who were highly respected at the time, because few people at the time were literate.

In academia, government-funded schools are overall taking a turn for the better. They are starting to integrate technology into their teachings, and some schools go as far as to focus primarily on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, or as they are called by the general public, STEM schools. Other schools are changing the fundamental way they teach, such as the schools in Norway. Norwegian schools teach with educational games in primary school, and also they do not have formal grades, everything is based upon the child’s individual
