How do you think rap music changed through the years? Well, rap music changed a lot through the years and I’ll tell you how. Rap music started in New York, where it started to become popular for its characteristics. Rap music can have positive and negative side effects from listening to it. Rap music evolved from a long time ago and it is still alive today. Rap music wasn't made up of only one person. It started when two African Americans came up with it in New York City. Rap artists that got rap popular back in the 1900s were Tupac, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Jay-Z, and Sugar Hill Gang. Soon after modern rap artists came up, people such as Drake, Lil Wayne, Cardi B, and 21 savage. Rap got popular because it was played in African American neighborhoods. Another important reason why rap is so popular is because of 21 Savage and Drake dropping a hit album “Her Loss”. To start the rap, journey the first rap hit was, “Rapper's Delight ''.
