Evie Stearns Period 5 The Discovery Of Rap Music is huge part of American life. Walking down the street, music is everywhere: coming from someone’s phone, a car, a shop. People use music for all different things: studying, entertainment, an escape from reality and even as a way to make money and a better life. Music can take many different forms, such as classical, country, rock and roll, pop, and rap. Rap is stereotyped as music for gangsters and not for good kids. It has been around long enough that even parents listen to it. Rap has changed our culture, but where did it begin? The discovery of rap is an important time in America’s history. It has given us dreams, changed our views of the world, and there have even been a museum exhibit of graffiti inspired by rap in New York.
