Selena Quintanilla Pèrez was a Mexican-American singer and dancer. She was famous for singing tejano music and was the first female to become popular singing it. Selena has won many awards in her life. Unfortunately, her life was cut short. She was killed by the president of her fan club.
People were loved by her own clothes designed. She was not just a singer but also a good dancer and was known for “Mexican Madonna” for her dance moves. Before coming to Full Sail University, I had encountered many obstacles. Her mindset of becoming an entrepreneur started off by designing her own outfits for her performances as well as the outfits for her band. She was into a sort of Spanish Madonna kind of style which established her trade mark in the fashion industry. She soon after that became a fashion designer along with her music career. Though, after a tragic murder ending her life, Selena will always be remembered as the first successful female Tejano singer. It all started when Selena sang the song “Blue Moon” in front of her father. Abraham, her father, instantly knew that she had talent. Taking ahold of this opportunity, he created a band consisting of Selena, Suzette (his other daughter), and A.B. (his son). Selena found a new passion through music from her father's teachings. This led her to pursue a music career, ultimately changing her whole early childhood towards becoming one of the most iconic superstars in the world. This dismissed many Americans as she was setting new boundaries in Latino history, becoming an idealistic fantasy family that has escaped poverty and expectations. Selena, although not her first language, went on to compose many hit songs in Spanish that helped to momentum many of her advocacy. Despite Selena recognizing she was becoming a new sensation, she was able to maintain a positive mindset to achieve many of her dreams.
