The 1980s decade impacts modern society, more than many would believe. The 80’s was a time period of booming music, bright colors and big hair. As loud as this time period was, and as much as we have changed, many aspects of today's society originated from the 80’s. In the 80’s there was an increase in the purchase of items that help make day to day things easier. Instead of spending hours washing clothes, people now have washing machines. Instead of spending significant time cooking dinner, families could just cook their dinner in the microwave. All these time saving devices, left more time for fun things. The 80’s is when MTV became really popular. The ability to do more than just listening to music was new and exciting. Ever since the boom of music in the 80’s, it has never really gone away. During this time period, the sony walkman became particularly popular, allowing people to listen to music on the go, without carrying a whole radio.
