To be a complex character in a story, you have to go through different experiences that will change your personality. Usually there is at least one complex character in every story. Without this character, the readers will miss that sweet sense of change and development in the story. Without this character, the storyline would not be as intriguing. In William Shakespeare’s play, Macbeth, Lady Macbeth was this special complex character. If she was not present in the play, it would have ended differently. She was the heart and core of this play. Without her, there would be no play. In Macbeth, there are a series of events that occur that change the course of the play. Everytime he felt someone was suspicious of him, he would have them murdered. He did not care who they were. If they were a threat to him, they would die. So that is why he killed Banquo. Banquo started out as one of Macbeth’s friends but after King Duncan’s death, Banquo became very suspicious of Macbeth. As Macbeth was killing all these people, his wife had no idea. She thought it was only going to be King Duncan’s life that they took. She stayed pretty relaxed and calm for a while after the death of Duncan. However, after finding out about her husband killing other people, she felt guilty. Lady Macbeth felt her actions had a huge part to her husband’s desire to kill. She felt so guilty about everything that she would sleep walk and talk in her sleep about all the lives they took. Then, one night while she was sleep walking, she took a dagger and killed herself. This proves that Lady Macbeth was not as confident as she was in the beginning of the play. She had changed in result of all of the experiences she went
