How Is Lady Macbeth A Tragic Hero

Shakespeare’s play regarding the noble, beloved Macbeth presents the idea that even a hero can descend into being no more than a deceitful criminal. The audience witnesses numerous factors that can push the tragic hero over the edge, but can see the protagonist's downfall is caused by no particular issue, instead a sum of numerous circumstances.

The idea that even a hero can descend into being no more than a deceitful tyrant is the main focus in Shakespeare’s work, Macbeth. This downfall is presented in the protagonist, Macbeth himself, as the Audience observes numerous factors push the tragic hero over the edge. Alas, a single pressure can be blamed no more than any other in the matter of Macbeth’s demise.

The protagonist’s wife, Lady Macbeth is seen by many as the leading cause for Macbeth’s demise. Shakespeare portrays Lady Macbeth as a heartless woman, dedicated to her husband, but has lost something dear to her, taking a piece of her soul and youth with it. The audience witnesses the Lady patronise her partner into committing regicide. She belittles Macbeth, telling him she has ‘given suck, and ‘no sooner dash it’s (babies) brains” than fall back on her word.
