How Is Lou Henry Hoover Successful

Whatever happened in your past, you can't go back to perfect it. This idea is about Lou Henry Hoover and how she became the person she is today.. But the more you leaned into her story, you realized that it’s ok to be the first, to start something new, and not letting others determine how you feel. Lou Henry Hoover was an encouraging, leadful woman to imitate and follow because of the way she changed history. Lou Henry Hoover was a successful person who achieved her goals and others. “During her four years on Pennsylvania Avenue, Hoover gave several talks.” (Lou Henry

It shows Lou was successful because she gave multiple talks so others could hear her voice. And she went after what she wanted, so she completed her goal on top of that. “ First modern first lady as she began to move from the traditional role of presidential spouse to the occupant of an office focused on social activism and public policy innovation and advocacy.” (Warters) This is a big example of success because she was the FIRST lady to do what she did. I say we should find this great because not all women and even men can do this and succeed at it at the same time. Lou Henry Hoover was a guideful person; she guided others to the right path and spot in life so they could stand up for themselves and what they believe. She spoke about her work with the Girl Scouts and the athletic association, and urged girls to go into fields dominated by men” (Lou Henry Hoover Encyclopedia). She uses her time, her words to speak up and talk about the girls and what they accomplished, nothing can hold you back “first to publicly speak on policy matters and the first to make a radio address to the nation” (Warters). She guides others to speak up publicly and if she can do it YOU can do it as

“Hoover studied Latin and majored in biology, where she was the only female in the department.” ("Lou Henry Hoover Encyclopedia). She’s a leader because back then you wouldn’t see girls taking this course or even thinking about it, but she did. It led others to follow her steps and take up after what she did to start something new and better. “She invited Jessie DePriest—an African American—to a White House tea. Newspapers and state legislatures across the country lambasted her for inviting a black person into the White House.” (Warters). Leading others to do the same or have the mindset about certain things they want but are too afraid to do. This is where I think you should listen and consider looking more into her. Lou didn’t let anybody stop her from doing what she wanted to do and how she wanted to do it. To conclude the story, you see she's more than just the “first lady”. She’s a superior to the world, whether you heard of her or not, she is part of the reason why females have the peace they do. Now you read it, do you still ask yourself why you should care? How does it benefit you? Of course, you won’t fit in her shoes because you won't be the first lady. However, you see what she did to help first or not, she still gave her all and you can too.
