‘Canadian;' a simple term that is defined by the Oxford Dictionary as, "People who live in Canada with full citizenship." However, to be a true Canadian, it is mandatory for a person to respect the Canadian values and traits that were built up through Canada's nationality. Terrance Stanley Fox, commonly known as Terry Fox, is a man who was able to demonstrate multiple positive and influential Canadian values through his multiple goals and struggles in his life. Terry Fox was a man who deserved and still deserves to be known as one of the greatest Canadians because of his ability to show Canadian traits through accomplishing his many goals. Terry Fox first showed his empathetic trait towards his high school best friend Doug Alward. In proof of that statement, Fox and Alward both happened to be weak players on the basketball Court. Just like Fox, Alward was denied any support from his fellow team members. This caused Fox to show his empathy towards Alward and befriend him, and at the same time, accomplish his goal in improving his skills. Due to his empathetic trait, Alward and Fox were able to strengthen their relationship which existed until Terry passed away. On the same note, Fox would often portray his goal to provide hope to children in hospitals through empathy. For example, Fox would continuously provide hope through empathy to children who were diagnosed with cancer when he visited children's hospitals. In confirmation towards that statement, Fox would be seen expressing his empathy towards children who were going through cancer illnesses similar to his Osteosarcoma cancer. Fox would mainly express and share his feelings towards children by sharing his personal life struggles and stories. These stories would mainly consist of his cancer process and him not giving up in order to show everyone that being a victimized cancer patient does not change who you truly are and will not stop you from accomplishing your goals. Alternatively, Fox also completed his goal to raise awareness towards cancer from completing the Marathon of Hope. For example, Fox was able to raise a total of about 650 million dollars towards cancer research. This allowed Terry to accomplish his goal to raise awareness and also accentuated Terry Fox's empathetic behavior. The reason as to why this accentuated his empathetic behaviour is because he raised around 650 million dollars and decided to donate every penny to cancer research while
