If I were able to have dinner with Walter Mitty from James Thurber 's “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” I would have to say yes. I have three main reasons to say yes and many a person may say no. I however may find his company enjoyable and much like my own. I would also have to see the way he looks at the world.
The Catcher in the Rye is a story that tells the adventures or misadventures of a seventeen year old, named Holden Caulfield, as he leaves his preparatory school called Pencey Prep and goes to New York City. The troubles that Holden goes through help many readers relate and identify with him even if they haven 't gone through the same situation. How? There are many influential characters in this book. First, of course, is Holden Caulfield who is the main character or protagonist in the novel.
It was during the 1400's when the face of exploration would change forever by one man. This infamous individual is Christopher Columbus. Known as the best darn sailor to ever live, his determination and hard working soul has shaped the world we have today. However, while many are taught that Columbus was a hero or an aristocrat, that is not actually accurate. To be historically correct, Christopher Columbus brought death and horror to the Americas.
Today, Christopher Columbus is primarily viewed as an important historic figure and a hero for his famous voyages in the 1400’s. However, many people to this day still debate whether he should be known as a hero or a villain. In my opinion, Christopher Columbus should not be considered a hero. A hero is somebody who performs good deeds for the sake of others, and not for their own benefit. Christopher Columbus just wanted to find gold and riches for himself and the country of Spain.
Osama bin Laden this monster and formal leader of the Taliban and the major influence to start the plan of hijack planes and drive them into the twin towers. This man in his home country was renowned as a hero. This was a man who had nothing to lose but everything to gain. Osama would plan terror attack on some of the tourist for not believing in his ideologies. He was on top of the terrorist world he could not be stop.
Christopher Columbus Hero or Villain? Was Christopher Columbus a Old World hero or a New World Villain? I feel that Christopher Columbus is a Villain because of how he mistreated the Native Peoples of the New World. Even though Columbus brought great wealth to Europe, there were millions of deaths caused by diseases Columbus brought with him to the New World, and he also brought back diseases to the Old World along with treasures exclusively from New World. I feel that Columbus helped begin the Americas, but he did not need to take as many lives to do so, making him a Villain.
Schindler: A Man of Courage, Strength, and Sacrifice What is a hero? In my opinion, a hero can be a number of things. A person you look up to, a person who performs an act of selflessness, or even an ordinary person who does something out of the ordinary. Oskar Schindler was a man of flaws like the rest of us, but also a man of courage, strength, and sacrifice.
There is no one clear definition of what it means to be a hero. Heroes can range from warriors to parents to friends and even children. Stanley Kubrick’s 1960 Spartacus’ title character is an example of a hero in the form of a warrior who fights against oppression in the Roman Empire. However, at the beginning of the film, Spartacus is not a hero.
In 2005 Michael Connelly revitalized his career by adding Mickey Haller, a.k.a. the Lincoln lawyer, to his stable of characters. Rakish, trick-loving Mickey seemed like the diametrical opposite of Mr. Connelly’s stolid, jazz-loving Hieronymus Bosch, known as Harry, the battle-weary Vietnam veteran and L.A.P.D. detective, now retired, who has trodden his way, clue by clue, through most Connelly novels. STORIES FROM OUR ADVERTISERS Mickey is best known for three things: his place of business, a Lincoln Town Car; his vanity plates, which read “IWALKEM”; and his way of trawling for clients by advertising on bus benches near the courthouse.
Hollywood has made many movies about the great gladiator, Spartacus. These famous films have always portrayed him as a hero or legend. In the movies, Spartacus’s story is a vengeful and action-packed adventure full of violence and drama. In reality, however, his story is not that interesting. Actually, there is not much known about the “legend” of Spartacus.
Both-- because his real life is dissatisfying he is driven to create his own fantasies where he characterizes himself has the man he wishes he could be. This in mind, I interpret the story with little sympathy towards Walter Mitty because he could be making a choice to live out his fantasies and do something great with his life, but he chooses not to even though he has full potential to do so.
When Superman was little he was just an alien that landed on earth, but now he is an icon of goodness to the world. He has inspired the world with his high moral values and has taught us many things about justice and life. He has persuaded countless people to continue working hard and giving everything they can despite of the odds. He is the most powerful person on earth and yet he is humble and honest, two great characteristics of a leader. Superman believes the only way to progress as a person is to accept new ideas, like voting him as president.
Batman is not a superhero There are many ways people become superheroes in comics. Sadly batman is not one of these superheroes. Batman does fight crime, but that just simply makes him a vigilante/hero. For starters he was not born with superpowers, he did not come from a different planet, and he wasn’t in some sort of “freak accident”, to obtain superhuman abilities. He is simply a billionaire in a pursuit of justice.

Superman Villain or Hero Many people would argue that Superman is a hero of Earth, but many fail to realize the consequences of having a powerful man come into existence. One of the prices evil will always rise up to challenge a good-hearted person. In turn crime rates would drop down as hundreds of innocent lives are saved daily by Superman.
