Although the mystery of Bigfoot may seem two-sided to many, there have been many counter arguments and thoughts about the habitat, region, and scientists studying Bigfoot. A lot of sightings of numerous footprints or nests have been found in high populated bear areas, and some claim that black bears, or bears in general, tend to stand on their hind legs, making it convincing to many that the footprints that are seen are not just bear paw prints. Wetzel states, “Though black bears usually travel on all four legs, they can stand and walk on their hind legs, making them a prime suspect (Wetzel 1).” This statement has led many to believe that maybe the scientists who’ve found the prints are just overexaggerating the mystery. Wetzel continues, “AMERICAN black bears are being mistaken for Bigfoot throughout North America. For every 900 bears in an area, one Bigfoot sighting is likely to follow, according to an analysis of bear populations and sightings of the mythical being (Wetzel 1).” After all, the information that has been collected over the years, has led us to no conclusion on the Bigfoot mystery.
