Summary
My research project question is ‘How Do a Local Band Get to the Next Level’ I was inspired to take on this question because I am In a local band (The Beards) I was I have always wondered how a band makes it to the next level E.g. people knowing who your band is and getting recognized and signing with a record label. The processes I have included to answer this question is interviewing a member from a local band who has progressed well and played music overseas, I have also been watching band interviews and taking notes on their responses in regards to progressing in the music industry. The outcome of my research project will be in the form of a heavy metal music article or a blog of our progression. This will be an easy way to present all my findings in an assessable manor, such as documenting a detailed step by step process in achieving the

Challenges that I faced when doing so was trying to find the right time during the set to expose them, different pieces of advice call for different times, in saying that it was a very good opportunity for me to try these things out and see how effective they were. In response, there was not much of a response so on that behalf it was not very successful. I feel like the response was not as successful as I would have hoped is because of the time that we played our set was late at night so the audience would have been drained. The second challenge that I had was fading a professional first hand source and decided on an interview. I interviewed a singer from a local band and asking him numerous questions that I thought would assist me in answering my research question. The answers that he gave me were not as reliable as I would have hoped. For example, he gave me tips on how I could get my band more popular and in testing these tips the outcome was not as helpful I would have
