My thought process was along the lines of; I write code not papers. I digress, I was wrong. The few styles of writing that I learned about goes as follows.

An Email would be the best form of written communication as the task is not a priority, all the data could be kept computerized to save time and verbal contact is not necessary.

Effective communication is key in everything I do. I work as a team leader (manager) at Target, so knowing how and when to deliver a message and in what way is critical in running an effective and strong business. More importantly, being able to develop a strong team that can do the same is key to making my job easier. Being that I work in a consumer-centric business, I have to know and be able to adapt my communication strategy to both my team and our guests and ensure that, when necessary, secure information remains confidential. I hope to advance my communication skills by taking this class so I can become a stronger communicator.

Propaganda has been used time and time again in order to gain support and to take power of people. It is very important in the past as well as the present for certain people to gain power for leadership roles and support that they need. “Propaganda is the use of information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, etc.” (dictionary.com) When I was little I remember an army commercial with a slogan “Be all that you can be, find your future in the Army.” (Cardenas).

We make use of multiple communication channels , for example face to face conversations, telephone calls, text messages, emails, brochures etc. Choosing an appropriate communication channel is vital for effective communication, as each channel has different strengths and weaknesses. Written communication is always useful as a way of recording what has been said.

In order for the unit to effectively grow, we need to improve our communication and it starts with the leaders. Once the leaders communicate better then the soldiers will feel comfortable and this will create a nonhostile environment. Better communication within our unit would create a better morale.
