There was few manufacturer of audio equipment, not too much information to read on and not many people knew about this equipment something that a lot of engineers were doing during this time was modifying equipment or building their own equipment out the machine that were design to do a completely different function and if you were a successful studio they were very secretive about the key to success. America's bands became more advanced in many ways from the mid-eighteenth through the mid-nineteenth century. Music was first introduced to America when military bands were brought to America by the British Army. These military bands brought their music and marches to America. Military songs first gave influences to America when the Continental Army was designed. It was made up of regiments and companies and each company had 2 fifers and 2 drummers.
Motown Records made an impact on the music industry because they developed sounds that were unique. The use of drums, tambourines, handclapping, drums, bass, keyboards, and brass instruments helped to define the “Motown Sound”. These instruments and sounds were perfected by The Funk Brothers, who were Motown’s in-house band and the envy of all competing recording companies.

If one were to be involved in a nuclear war, it would be a traumatic occasion. In the short story “The Portable Phonograph” by Walter Van Tilburg Clark, four men are huddled in a cave experiencing the aftermath of a great war. All habitation is left in ruins, and only a few survivors remain. With the information in the article “How to Survive Nuclear Winter” by James Roberts, one can infer what the men are struggling with.
Surviving a Nuclear Winter Rarely do people live experiencing a nuclear war, so most of the survivors consider themselves as safe after the explosion; however, is the situation as simple as they assume? James Roberts "How to Survive Nuclear Winter" and Walter Van Tilburg Clark's "The Portable Phonograph" both describe in detail the terrible affects of a nuclear war that causes an unmeasurable destruction in the aftermath. Both of these authors depicts nuclear winter as a cold and desolate dangerous planet where people will have to be prepared to defend themselves with whatever weapons they can find.
The Music Revolution The Sixties were an exciting period with the beginning of a social, economic and Cultural Revolution, influenced by the music industry that was deeply involved into causes. This propensity took place in a turbulent period where some folks called it the "decade of discontent" because of the race riots and the demonstrations against the Vietnam War. However, other individuals called it the decade of "peace, love, and harmony", because of the peace movements and the emergence of Hippies, called “flower children.” This decade was about assassinations, unforgettable fashion, new styles of music, civil rights, gay and women 's liberation, Vietnam, peace marches, sexual freedom, drug usage, Summer of Love and Woodstock Festival. All of these factors caused a revolutionary transformation in the world of well-liked music, establishing melodies as a form of raise voices and express feelings.
Research on this topic….. Not only did I gain a boatload of information about music history; I also learned where the book were located in the library and how to read call numbers. Being able to read the call numbers will allow me to find books more easily for future research projects. Also, I have improved on my ability of helping others find books on their topic, without having to look online for the call numbers. I came to class on Monday, November 14, 2016 wondering how I was going to get my information on music history.
