Evidently everything that took place at Willowbrook was extremely unethical all around. All ten of the principles in the ATRA code of ethics were violated. Willowbrook is a perfect example of how ethics change over time. Even though today you hear stories about abuse and neglect that takes place in nursing homes this type of treatment and this amount of widespread neglect would never happen today. Today there are strict protocols and guidelines in every facility that as a professional you are required to follow.

Yes, it’s a pain to have to inspect, sign in, and inspect again for every student. But this is a way of supporting the students to be less destructive with their anger. The students have come to expect the supervision. Besides, signing a sheet is a lot less intrusive than the alternative.
This artifact was developed through the analysis of five case study scenarios to qualify the Principles of Professional Conduct of the Education Profession of Florida and the Code of Ethics that were infringed by educators. This artifact helps me to identify what penalties can be imposed by the Educational Practices Commission against a certificate holder as well as the impact that educator’s ethical violation will likely have or had on the learner’s emotional, social, and cognitive well-being, the learning environment, and the school safety. Due to this behaviour, Oyster Adams should follow the confucianism philosophy of respect of respect, teach and reward to make sure students behave appropriately in our school. Demonstrated by Confucianism,the leader must lead by example so others can be encouraged to do the good thing. “If you govern the people with laws and regulate them with penalties, the people will try to do no wrong, but they will lose the sense of shame. If you govern the people with virtue and rules of poverty, the people will have a better sense of shame and reform themselves.”
Proctor exams have been implemented at universities all around the world. A proctor is usually an adult who supervises you when you are taking any type of test. According to the University catalog (2015), you are required to take many final exams that require a proctor. They must be least 21 years old, willing to comply with polices and procedures, have an internet connection, and cannot be related to the student. During the exams, the proctor must be present at all times.
Within the school environment the ethos of the school should be noticed upon entering and the daily performance of the staff and pupils who attend and work for the school. All the staff that work in the environment have an important responsibly when it comes to children as children and young people are influenced by the behaviour they see from their role models, which can be teachers, family members and friends and teaching assistants such as myself. They are influenced by not just my behaviour but every adult within the setting, so everyone needs to make sure that they are not displaying negative behaviour or displaying a negative way of dealing with certain people or incidents involving others, otherwise this could affect other younger children

The diversity of student backgrounds, abilities and learning styles makes each person unique in the way he or she reacts to information. The intersection of diverse student backgrounds and active learning needs a comfortable, positive environment in which to take root. Dr. King continues by explaining, “Education which stops with efficiency may prove the greatest menace to society. The most dangerous criminal may be the man gifted with reason, but with no morals.” From back then to today’s society, kids are failing because they lack those morals that they need to succeed.
The profession of teaching is one that is faced with a number of challenging ethical issues on a regular basis. The National Education Association’s Code of Ethics outlines two different areas of obligation for professional educators: obligations to students and obligations to the profession. These duel obligations can cause a great number of ethical issues with a large complexity. Handling ethical issues regularly is essential to being a quality professional in education. My Personal Code of Ethics as an Education Leader As an educator, and conceivable future educational leader, my personal code of ethics is one that envelops uprightness, correspondence, respect, imparted objectives, sympathy, open-mindedness, and confidentiality. A leader recognizes what is correct and utilizes it to make the best decision paying little mind to personal danger. Many of their principles align with my teaching philosophy as well as my classroom management preferences. For example, on the very first day of school, my students and I will work together to develop a behavior contract that will contain the rules/norms of our classroom. We will brainstorm ideas together on an anchor chart, and then I will consolidate these responses into cohesive phrases. Once the “published” copy of the behavior contract has been presented to the students, and no changes need to be made, each student will sign the contract, indicating that they plan to abide by these rules every day, and if they make a poor choice, they accept the consequences that are to follow. The consequences for the broken rules/norms will also be discussed as a class.
I believe that all children are individuals, unique in their abilities, from a wide diversity of backgrounds and cultures, and they also have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. Educators are observers and designers who have to observe children’s abilities, interests and learning styles for designing a curriculum that fulfill everyone’s needs. Observers also play an important role on noticing individual differences and offering help to children who have lower ability to improve
In conclusion, honor code schools have students that don’t understand the honor code or are not well informed because the rules are interpreted in various ways and there is a lack of conversation about the honor code. For instance, a student at Stanford University helped another student in his class catch up after a hospital stay and found out he would not get a grade for the class for “cheating” on the classwork. One of his answers was too similar to the other students, the student claimed that the only way he knew to explain it was the same way he answered it (Greenberg). The honor code is uncompromising in dealing with its cases of cheating. Students who are only trying to help others are being punished because they explain the work the way they understand it.
