The Toronto Maple Leafs organization operates within the commercial/private sector of the sports industry. The purpose of this report is to provide a brief summarization of how the ‘Maple Leafs’ organization fits within this profit driven sector of sport; along with diving into the organizations values, mission, and goals within the company, along with how those organizational vaues and mission fit within the commercial sector. Then concluding with a reflection on whether or not I would be interested in working within the commercial sector. Toronto Maple Leafs’ is referred to as one of the most storied franchises in all of hockeys history. The Maple Leafs organization ownership group, MLSE (Maple Leafs Sports Entertainment) is a company which a large array of holdings across commercial sport franchises. In order to uphold excellence, MLSE has a board of directors which is responsible for overseeing and executive strategic business strategies to uphold an entertaining venue for all clubs. Thus also establishing goals and targets for the sports organizations to attain, which leads to the Maple Leafs hierarchy. Within the organization, the two main decision makers are the Preesident and Alternate Governor, Brendan Shanahan alongside General Manager, Kyle Dubas. Under the guidance of these two, there are a handful of other lower levels of management that report directly to the general manager, and
