Author Information The author's name is George Orwell. Orwell was born in Motihari, Bengal, India in 1903. George Orwell’s real name was Eric Arthur Blair. Orwell has also written Animal Farm, Coming up for air and many more books. At the age of 13 a scholarship to Eton College. Because of Orwell's family’s decrepit state, Orwell could not continue into Oxford or Cambridge. The book 1984 makes since the way it is. The author uses both primary and secondary sources. The sources use both new and old sources. Most of the sources have something to do with war, tyrants, or totalitarians. One source that is particularly interesting is the poem If our enemies took me by Osip Mandelstam.To some people, a poem would be more interesting than other types of sources. My research on the author has explained to me that the author more than qualified to talk about the topic’s he talks about.
