Ponyboy is a hero. He always thinks of others before himself. For example he saves the kids in the church, were as some one how is not a hero would think about them selfs and think it is too dangerous. He is very selfless for example he broke a glass to scare of the group of three Socs that were ganging up on him but then he picked up the glass because he was worried that someone would get a flat trier.
This didn't make sense to Ponyboy yet. After running from the police when johnny stabbed Bob a soc they find themselves in an abandoned church. When Ponyboy returns to society after being in the hospital. He finds himself meeting with Randy, Bob's best friend. Pony is suppried when Randy tells him that he's sorry for Pony and how Bob's parents never gave him limits.
Ponyboy should be put in foster care. Fifteen percent of adolescence are out in Foster Care. Also result of the guidance twelve percent become successful adults. Ponyboy is a bad guy at the beginning and at last he was a self confident guy. Now let tell you why he should be in foster care.
They support their friends who are going through hard times even if they are going through hard times themselves. Ponyboy lived up to this belief by sticking with Johnny even after he killed Bob, and by fighting in the rumble while in a weak state to fight for his friends. First, when Johnny killed Bob, there wasn’t a hesitant thought in Ponyboy’s head when Dally advised them to run away. Ponyboy knew the magnitude of the murder and even though he didn’t commit it, he went into hiding with Johnny.
Johnny shows Ponyboy that the world isn’t corrupt with mean people and that it is still full of good. Johnny stated in the note Ponyboy found in the book Gone With The Wild that it is was worth saving the kids even if it meant his life. He also stated that the poem in the book meant “He meant you’re gold when you’re a kid,like green… and don’t get bugged over being a greaser. You still have a lot of time to make yourself be what you want. There’s still lots of good in the world” (Hinton 178-9).
First, Ponyboy was very heroic when it came to Johnny. When he was in the hospital hooked up to life support after the church fire. On page 120, it said that Ponyboy and the Greasers went to go see Johnny, but the doctor would not let them, So they threatened him with a switchblade. This shows that
Another reason he exhibits his bravery is by caring for others or being courageous. Ponyboy shows how he cares for others by being there when Johnny needs him. When Johnny was hospitalized due to the fire, Ponyboy was there to help him deal with his emotions.
He has fondness for his brothers who always look after their younger sibling. He is very pleased with his friends, and his living conditions. His brothers always support Pony and keep him out of trouble. His friends love him and try to get him from getting hurt or in trouble. Plus, Ponyboy being happy in his environment then making him leave could cause Ponyboy to go into a depression.
These 3 people are people I consider that are very important to the book. Ponyboy is one of the people in the book that deserves to be or is a hero. Ponyboy is very courageous and helps others. One of the quotation that can support that he’s a hero is when he realized the children are in the burning church he was not afraid at all and said, “I’ll get them, don’t worry!” (p. 91)
Ponyboy lived with his two brothers Darry and Sodapop after his parents were killed in a car accident. Ponyboy had some friends in the gang: Steve, Two-Bit, Dally but his best friend was a boy named Johnny who was considered the gang`s mascot. Ponyboy was a boy who always wanted to be tough but an accident that happened in the story might make him change of mind on what he wanted to be. He also finds a way of how to finish the gang that was taking place from many tima.
Ponyboy, a greaser, was one of the young boys that was matured throughout the book because of his hardships. Ponyboy 's relationship with his older brothers, Darry and Sodapop, is a key factor in how Ponyboy matured throughout the book. An example of Ponyboy almost maturing from the influence of Darry and Sodapop, is when their parents were killed in a car crash. When their Parents died it caused them to get closer and look out for eachother more (#3).
Looks: Long and skinny, Brown hair, gray/green eyes, perky ears. Actions: Even though his actions may not be thought through very deeply, Ponyboy is always thinking about what is best for his family and what he can do to keep them out of harm's way. Even if it meant being in danger himself. Speech: The words that Ponyboy chooses to use in the book are not the best ones, but you can pick up very early in the book that he means well and wants to speak his mind, but just doesn't know how to put his feelings into words.
He could take anything. It was Johnny I was worried about.” He knows how frightened and anxious Johnny is after being jumped and how he is not as tough as the rest of the Greasers. Especially without a loving family at home, Johnny only has the gang and is not able to take as much. Throughout the whole novel, Ponyboy expresses how much he cares for others both with Johnny, and
For example, if Ponyboy is getting beat up, he steps in and breaks it up. He helps jonny get out of trouble. He is in my mind the best character because he is a life saver and a helper and he always has his friend’s backs. There is a couple of things that I don’t like about him though. He is always getting in trouble and he is disrespectful at some times.
He mainly tries to shape his self-identity off his group. This is clear because while The Greasers are hanging out and talking about Johnny´s situation at home and how this gang is like family to him, Ponyboy notes that “Socs had so much spare time and money that they jumped each other for kicks…things were rough all over, all right. All over the east side.¨ (43) Because he stayed through tough times and is currently living through them this displays that he really cares about his gang and how it's like his family. Another reason that his group identity is stronger is because, while Cherry and Marcia are worried Dally is going to hurt them, Ponyboy notes that “When you’re a gang, you stick up for the members” (26) because he sticks up for the members of his gang no matter what. This reveals his loyalty to the gang and all the other members and how truly important it is to him.
