Many think Pony boy has a rough life. He even has his brothers with him at tough times. Just like the rumble how two bit 's, Darry and Pony boy fought the Socs. Then, the greasers win the rumble against the Socs. Therefore, Pony boy will be better with his brothers than foster care.
In the dramatic story “The Outsiders” Ponyboy is always in a dangerous situation, ever since his parents passed away his older brother Darry has been taking care of him and his second older brother Sodapop who is also under Darry’s custody, which proves that he’s not only dealing with one teenager, but with two, and being a young man himself, he has his own problems. Reading the story “The Outsiders,” Ponyboy has always been worried if he would be taken away to a boys home but he doesn't understand that it might be better for him even if he is taken away from Darry, some readers are wondering what is best for him should he stay or should go into a boys home. Ponyboy is better off in a boys home because he will be better taken care of.
Ponyboy is a hero. He always thinks of others before himself. For example he saves the kids in the church, were as some one how is not a hero would think about them selfs and think it is too dangerous. He is very selfless for example he broke a glass to scare of the group of three Socs that were ganging up on him but then he picked up the glass because he was worried that someone would get a flat trier.

He would not get into many fights as he got in while living with his brothers. As a matter of fact, if pony Boy went to foster care, he could get a better education. He could go to a big collage and get a good job he likes. Meaning he could get a big house to live in. Then When he gets older, he could take care of himself and see Darry and Soda Pop if he wants to.
He would be disappointed. As the foster care could do severe damage to Pony boy. There are things said that Pony boy is not in a good environment, he smokes, he is a greaser so that means he is poor. Though he might not be living in a good environment, but he also has straight A 's. Then, he smokes but does that make him quit school, and might be poor, but Darry always provides with the things they need. He also has friends at his schools taking him away from his school and his environment.
but I think he has the brains in the story because he thinks about a problem before he deals with it. Pony boy is also a loyal friend he will be there for a friend when every they need him there. Since his mom and dad died him and his brothers have been living together. There were some cases that he was scared to be put in a foster home.
